Dann holen wir Hannelore, die Ohrenschmerzen hat, vom Apartment ab und fahren zur Staten Island Ferry. Heute wollen wir die Skyline von Manhatten bei Nacht ansehen. Nun stellt sich heraus, dass Staten Island, ein Hafen ist, wie ihn erwartet hatte. Ein kleines Ankunftsgebäude mit Bahnhof und Bushaltestelle, ein Baseballstadion und unendlich lange Küstenstraßen. Ein gemütlicher kleine Italiener, bei dem wir Abendessen und den Sonnenuntergang abwarten können. Wir machen einen 2stündigen Spaziergang zu den Ureinwohnern Staten Island, Schwarze, die Wiebke Angst machen, weil wir alle Touristenpfade verlassen haben, essen dann bei KFC ein mexikanisches Schnellimbiss Mahl und ich habe dann das AHA-Erlebniss, eine Büchse Bier in Papiertüte am Hafenbecken trinken zu dürfen.
